According to research from JungleScout, 54% of American consumers have purchased a product or service that they discovered through social media. In addition, 21% and 31% of consumers search for products on Instagram and Facebook, respectively. To help sell your product or service on social media exercise these best practices for content:
- Know your audience
Gather demographic information and conduct research on your customers’ age, location, education, lifestyle, income, etc. With this info create a customer profile with their needs, desires, and habits to help you figure out who to sell and build a target audience with.
- Don’t use every platform
Usually, people are on 1-3 platforms. Using all the platforms can be overwhelming, so to start find out what platform your ideal customer uses the most and post there the most.
- Claim you handles & usernames
There are 3 rules to adhere to: Don’t use numbers and symbols excessively, make sure it is easy to spell and search, make sure it represents your brand.
- Answer questions
Gather examples of good and bad responses your client might have. Format these questions in a “frequently asked question” (FAQ) section. Create a guide for whoever is in charge of social media platforms.
